   Masbate is an Island (it's actually 3 islands but let's just focus on the main island, ayt!?) so if you wanna get there it would have to be through airplane or ferry. There are several ways to get to Masbate City but I'll just give you the most comfortable for you.

*Airplane- Coming from Manila domestic airport it takes around 45 minuetes to 1 hour tops, then you will
land directly to Masbate City airport, air travel cost around 3,000-5,000php, depending on the season,usually what fliers do is they book the flight in advance, let's say your going to Masbate  for Christmas, you book the flight in August,.. in that way you'll be able to get in 1,500php cheaper but much riskier cause if the flight was cancelled, you can also say goodbye to your 1,500php cause it's none refundable. They coin it as *promo

*Bus ride- If you wanna go cheap or just wanna see the nature of Bicol area, you can take a  bus to Masbate,  via Roro (Roll on roll of ship). To get there, go to Cubao terminal near Ali mall, there is a bus station there  bound for Bicol. All you have to do is a get a ticket in the terminal going Masbate. Remember ride Roro bus it's color green,  the good thing about Roro buses is, they board the whole buss inside the ship. (Don't worry you can go outside the bus and sit comfortably), you won't have bother boarding a boat to Masbate. The fare for a none air condition bus is around 850php, aircon buses are 1250php or something.
That's the usual rate, but rates go up depending on season.

*Bus Ride again-Back in the days where Roro wasn't available, people going to Masbate would ride a bus going to Legaspi, they would stop at Daraga shell station, then accross the Shell gasoline station you ride a van to Bulan. Then ride a fastcraft to Masbate. They call this route South road by the way.

The benifits of traveling this way are;

1.You can choose the bus, you wanna ride to Bicol. From ordinary to elite
2.The fastcraft (it's a speedboat) is much comfortable than the Roro ship
3. The food stops are much better.

*Commute- It's not really the best idea, you have to drive all the way to Bicol Bulan, then load you vehicle.
You car's fee; it depends on what kind of ride you have.

 I can say 95% of Masbateno can speak Tagalog and English (although not everyone is fluent) so don't worry. =)

Tips
1. Beware of porters in the port ones you dock in Masbate, they would grab your bag and      insist of carrying your bag even if you resist. They also do it the port of Bicol Bulan

 2.Take care of your luggage, if you lost it even if it's the bus companies fault, they won't pay for it  they'll give you the run around on who's fault is it.

3. Buy food in advance the food on your way (the ship and stops) are really expensive.

4.Beware of theives, they thrive everywhere in your journey, please be attentive.

 Enjoy and good luck =)
