( Do you really want to cut down these just for money)
Recently SM, launched it's campaign ad to justify why they were balling the trees.
Here are there reasons;
1.Plant 60,000 trees in the next 3 years
2.Save the trees, and human lives, from soil erosion
3.Prevent flood through a catch basin equal to 4,000 pine trees
4.Prevent Pollution, Decongest, Traffic
5. Conserve energy. .Use natural lighting
6.Partner with top environmental groups
Of course ones the mall is built. Okay!? So why don't SM plant the trees and not build the mall, I mean for ones let's not think of profit.
It seems that everybody in the Philippines doesn't want those pine trees balled, because they have less than 17% of surviving, not just that. It's the last remaining green park in Baguio, and they want it removed. And how can the public be sure that they would plant those trees ones that mall is built, if it's actually trees they will be planting not corn or whatever.
What is DENR doing? I don't usually don't complain about our government but this just makes me sad.
15 years ago ADB, advocated by AW funded DENR to plant trees, to make the country green again.
But 15 years later. Where are the trees? Right, it's in our government officials pockets. I think no single tree was built in that project. Hopefully no one was paid off in DENR, for those trees to balled.
In reality SM doesn't care about the environment, let's just be honest here. Henry Sy is a businessman and I can understand that he doesn't care for the environment only profit, if he did care for the environment he would have planted those a long time ago.
