Top Ten(10) Most Aggressive/Dangerous Dogs
*Please take not that dogs are friendly by nature to us humans as they evolve to suite our environment. Although aggression in terrier and bull dogs are believed to be higher, there is no concrete data that a certain breed has the tendency to attack or be more dangerous than the other (usually because stray dogs attack most). There are factors like genes, medical condition, anxiety, trauma, treatment of previous owner, territorial behavior, anxiety etc... to make the dog more hostile.
10. Dalmatians (35-36lbs) (20-25inches)
Dalmatians have great memory, affectionate and loyal companions. They like to socialize and have fun. It is important to take note of this when they are still puppies if not addressed the dog will mature into timidity and most likely to attack.
9. Boxer (65-99lbs) (22-25inches)
Boxers are noted to be funny, charming and energetic animals. As puppies they can appear to worry a lot. Boxers have great strengths, always alert and on guard which makes the suspicious and likely to attack a visitor. Boxers are currently serving military as guard and attack dogs
8. Pressa Canario (80-115lbs) (21- 26inches)
Pressa Canario are short tempered animals which makes them very hard to train, they are dominant by nature and needs to be trained early on in socializing with other dogs. If not this dog will most likely bite off your hand
7. Bull Terrier (44-85lbs) (20-24inches)
Bull Terriers are fierce warriors with great loyalty. They are known to be aggressive whenever there owner is attacked. They made it to the list since they have the tendency to kill other pets like cats or birds. This dog may also not mingle with other male dogs. A female Bull terrier would be just fine though. This dog needs constant attention, owner should also act a bit dominant since this dog can go to non-aggressive to aggressive.
6. Doberman Pinschers (75-100lbs) (27.5inches)
Intelligent, obedient, fast and strong. Fierce is the stereotype of this dog and will attack anyone but in reality they are restrained, obedient and ready to defend the owner they serve well as body guards but the real purpose in breading them was to be used in combat situation such as wars. Which makes them excellent guard dogs. They are high on aggression low socialization and rank high on playfulness
5. Alaskan Malmutes (75-100lbs)
"Survival of the Fittest" The Alaskan Malmutes has retained its wildness, living in the harshest environment and pulling sleds made this dog strong and a survivor. If an owner wants an obedient dog this one is not for you. As it will not obey all your commands. Although great with kids, having little animals around the house is not really ideal when this dog is around. As his predatory is instincts are still strong, they also still howl like wolves.
4. Siberian Huskies (45-60lbs) (21-24inches)
There are several breeds of huskies but this one is most likely to bite since they are pretty much still wild although tamed they howl rather than bark. Intelligent, energetic and always willing to haunt, this dog has the characteristic to be a guard dog but due to his high intelligence this dog maybe easily be bored and not follow commands. In the early days until the 90's there are occasional attacks on humans reported.
3. German Shepard (66-88lbs) (24-26inches)
The German Shepard has the speed, intelligence. strength to be a good k9 soldier. But there was a report in Australia in 1999 that this dog is the thirds most likely to attack a person. Currently German Shepard's are the 2nd most popular breed of dog in USA as of 2009. Currently German Shepard's are used in the police and army all over the world.
2. Rottweiler (140-160lbs) (24-27 inches)
According to studies the Rottweilers are good natured. placid, obedient and eager to work. This animal is very strong and reported to be the second breed of dog to attack humans, although friendly to their human families and may act clownish around them strangers must be careful, due to its territorial instincts the Rottweilers may attack at will. But because of this they are very good guard dogs that will defend your home.
1. Pitbull
Known for its fearlessness and veracity the Pitbull will take on any opponent, It is said that a Pitbull can mangle a man to death as it can lock its jaw and not let go of its prey until dead. Currently they are abused in dog fights and trained to fight. But rescued Pittbull fighters who receive therapy show little aggression to none at all. In some cases become good pets in homes not showing any aggression even to children. Some even say that Pittbulls who are raised in a good environment shows more care and affection to owners than other breeds.
