10. Haiti (Score 1.8) recently became famous for being hit by a major earthquake, it is also one of the poorest country in the Americas with the GDP of 7.018 billion dollars in 2009 which means an average person in Haiti earns around $2 a day

Unfortunately their policies about their economy is rigid since there economic recovery in 1995 along with human rights violations this country is poor with people living $1.75 a day

There are a lot of political parties in the state but President Deby holds true power. Constant coups d'etat makes it hard for Chad to maneuver economically. The country has one of the most (if not the most) repressive Government in the world. It is under strict military control. Economic mismanagement and human right violations are only two main reasons why this country is still very poor and ranks number 3 in our countdown
2. Afghanistan (Score 1.3) If you don't know, Afghanistan does have a Government with one third of its income coming from illegal drugs usually opium. Although they do import grapes and melons turmoil with Islamic extremist crippled the country to its knees.
1. Somalia (Score 1.1) famous for its pirates, it has an informal economy mainly on livestock and remittance that remain healthy with all the civil unrest. Though poor it has the largest army in Africa.
